నేను పుట్టిందీ, పెరిగిందీ హైదరాబాద్‌లోనే! సినిమాలు అంటే ఆసక్తి, ప్రేమ! ఆరేళ్ల పాటు సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్ ఉద్యోగం చేశా. తర్వాత నిర్మాతగా పరిశ్రమలో ప్రవేశించా.
‘బెదురులంక 2012’ టైటిల్ పెట్టడానికి గల కారణం?
కథలో ‘ఫియర్’ (భయం) కూడా ఓ పాత్ర పోషిస్తుంది. అందుకని, ‘బెదురులంక 2012’ అని పెట్టాం. ఓ ఊహాజనిత గ్రామంలో 2012లో 21 రోజులు ఏం జరిగింది? అనేది కథ. మేం చెప్పాలనుకున్న కథను 2012 నేపథ్యం అవసరం. కథ వేరుగా ఉంటుంది. 100 పర్సెంట్ ఫోకస్ అంతా 2012 మీద ఉండదు.
క్లాక్స్ కథ చెప్పిన తర్వాత అందులో కోర్ పాయింట్ ఏంటనేది చెప్పేశారట! కథ వినేటప్పుడు మీరు ఏయే అంశాలు చూస్తారు?
కథలో ‘ఎక్స్’ ఫ్యాక్టర్ ఉండాలని నేను బలంగా నమ్ముతాను. ప్రేక్షకుడిగా సినిమా చూసినప్పుడు… కొత్తదనం ఉండాలని కోరుకుంటా. కథ కుదిరిన తర్వాత మిగతా అంశాలు అన్నీ కుదురుతాయి. ప్రోమో చూసిన తర్వాత ‘ఎందుకు ఈ సినిమాకు వెళ్ళాలి’ అని ప్రేక్షకులు అనుకోవడానికి ఓ కొత్తదనం కావాలి. నేను అది ‘చెక్ లిస్ట్’గా పెట్టుకున్నా. క్లాక్స్ కథ చెప్పినప్పుడు అందులో పాయింట్ నచ్చింది. ఎంత ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ పాయింట్ అయినా సరే… మనం సీరియస్ గా చెప్పలేం. వినోదాత్మకంగా చెప్పాలి. ‘కలర్ ఫోటో’ జరుగుతున్న సమయంలో ఈ కథ ఓకే చేశా. ఆ సినిమా విడుదలకు రెండు నెలల ముందు సినిమా లాక్ చేశాం.
హీరో కార్తికేయ గురించి… ఆయనతో ఎక్‌పీరియన్స్ ఎలా ఉంది?
చాలా హ్యాపీ! కార్తికేయతో ఒక్క శాతం కూడా ఇబ్బంది లేదు. ఆయనతో మళ్ళీ పని చేయాలని అనుకుంటున్నా. కార్తికేయ చాలా ప్రొఫెషనల్. అతనితో మరో సినిమా చేద్దామని అనుకుంటున్నాం.
హీరో క్యారెక్టర్ ఎలా ఉంటుంది?
తనకు నచ్చినట్టు జీవించే పాత్రలో కార్తికేయ కనిపిస్తారు. అతడ్ని సమాజం ప్రశ్నిస్తూ ఉంటుంది. హీరో ప్రేయసి పాత్రలో నేహా శెట్టి కనిపిస్తారు. హీరో హీరోయిన్లు చిన్నప్పటి నుంచి ప్రేమలో ఉంటారు. సినిమాలో అన్ని పాత్రలకు క్యారెక్టర్ ఆర్క్ ఉంటుంది. మన మనసుకు నచ్చినట్లు 100 పర్సెంట్ బయటకు బతకం, చనిపోతాం అని తెలిస్తే చివరి క్షణాల్లో ఎలా ఉంటాం? అనేది సినిమా కోర్ పాయింట్. డ్రామా, కామెడీ సినిమాలో హైలెట్ అవుతాయి. సినిమాలో బోలెడు క్యారెక్టర్లు ఉన్నా సరే… కావాలని పెట్టినట్లు ఒక్క క్యారెక్టర్ కూడా ఉండదు.
కథానాయికగా నేహా శెట్టి అయితే బావుంటుందని మీరే చెప్పారట!
ప్రేక్షకుల్లో ఆ అమ్మాయికి క్రేజ్ ఉంది. ‘డీజే టిల్లు’లో ఆమె స్క్రీన్ ప్రజెన్స్ బావుంది. అందులో మోడ్రన్, అర్బన్ రోల్ చేశారు. ఆ అమ్మాయితో రూరల్ బ్యాక్‌డ్రాప్ రోల్ చేయిస్తే బావుంటుందని అనిపించింది. ‘డీజే టిల్లు’లో క్యారెక్టర్ చూసి సెట్ అవ్వదేమో అని క్లాక్స్ అన్నారు. లుక్ టెస్ట్ చేసిన తర్వాత హ్యాపీగా అనిపించింది. ఎటువంటి పాత్రలకు అయినా సరే నేహా శెట్టి సెట్ అవుతారని ‘బెదురులంక 2012’తో పేరు తెచ్చుకుంటారు. పల్లెటూరి అమ్మాయి పాత్రలో అంత బాగా నటించారు.
కొత్త దర్శకుడితో చేస్తున్న సినిమాకు టెక్నీషియన్ల పరంగా చాలా పెద్దవాళ్ళను తీసుకున్నారు. కారణం ఏమిటి?
క్లాక్స్ విజన్ స్క్రీన్ మీదకు రావడానికి ఎక్‌పీరియన్స్డ్ టెక్నీషియన్లు అవసరం అనిపించింది. సంగీత దర్శకుడిగా మణిశర్మ గారు, ఛాయాగ్రాహకుడిగా సాయి ప్రకాష్ గారు… ఎక్కడా కాంప్రమైజ్ కాలేదు. ఆర్టిస్టుల విషయంలో కూడా రాజీ పడలేదు.
‘సిరివెన్నెల’ గారితో ఓ పాట రాయించారు కదా! ఆ ప్రయాణం గురించి…
ఆయన పాట రాస్తున్న సమయంలోనే శివైక్యం చెందారు. మాకు ఆ నోట్స్ కూడా మణిశర్మ గారు తెప్పించారు. మిగతా పాటను చైతన్య ప్రసాద్ రాశారు. సిరివెన్నెల గారు తిరిగిరాని లోకాలకు వెళ్లిన తర్వాత ‘ఆయన లాస్ట్ సాంగ్ మా సినిమాలో ఉంది’ అని కొందరు చెప్పారు. నిజానికి ఆయన చివరి పాట మా సినిమాలో ఉన్నా సరే ఆ విషయం బయటకు చెప్పలేదు. దాన్ని పబ్లిసిటీకి వాడుకోకూడదని భావించాను.
ఈ సినిమా ట్రైలర్ రామ్ చరణ్ విడుదల చేశారు. ఆయన ఏమన్నారు?
ట్రైలర్ విడుదల చేయడానికి ముందు రామ్ చరణ్ గారు కథ ఏంటని అడిగి తెలుసుకున్నారు. ట్రైలర్ చూసిన తర్వాత కాన్సెప్ట్ గురించి మాట్లాడారు. అజయ్ ఘోష్ క్యారెక్టర్ ఎంటరైన తర్వాత సీన్స్ గురించి చెప్పారు. మణిశర్మ గారి మ్యూజిక్ చాలా బావుందన్నారు. ట్రైలర్ చూడటానికి ముందు కార్తికేయ, నేహా శెట్టి పెయిర్ బావుందని చెప్పారు.
