The AP government has released a new GO and it stated ‘Dry day’ in it. The word dry day is mostly used in the excise department. Previously, liquor shops were closed once a week. So, the day when the liquor shops were closed was called a Dry day.
But, now this dry day has nothing to do with alcohol prohibition. It is related to mosquito control in the state. The essence of the newly released GO is that everyone should clean their surroundings and control the mosquitoes’ breeding by following every Friday as a dry day.
Since the government has neglected the cleanliness of the environment for one year, the number of people suffering from dengue fever has increased.
