Earlier, we had reported that star heroine, Samantha is one of the front-runners for the female lead role in Gunasekhar’s upcoming mythological drama, Shakuntalam.
Today, the makers of Shakuntalam have released a small teaser to announce the actress who plays the titular role.
The teaser confirms that Samantha will be playing Shakuntala in the intense love drama which is based on mythological characters.
The teaser looks really appealing with good visuals and soulful background score by maestro Mani Sharma. More details will be out once the shoot commences.
Shakuntalam is the story of Shakuntala, the daughter of sage Vishwamitra, and Apsara Menaka. It covers the love affair, marriage, and reunion of a seemingly undying love story of Dushyanta and Shakuntala.
Gunasekhar’s wife, Neelima will be producing the project. The film will be shot on a grand scale.
