Tikayath pledges support to Amaravati farmers

The farmers of Amaravati have been protesting for over a year now, against the three capital decision that the YSRCP government has taken, and is working towards. No matter how hard they are trying, the state government seems to be relentless in pursuing its idea.

In the meantime, Rakesh Tikayath, the leader of the farmers’ movement in Delhi, recently visited Vijayawada and pledged his support to the farmers of Amaravati. Tikayath is leading the protest against the central government in Delhi, by opposing the farm laws that the center wishes to bring into effect. Negotiations between the central government and the farmers protesting in Delhi have been going on for a while, but no conclusion has been made yet, with the farmers intent on making sure that the laws are not put into effect, and the center not ready to back down on its stance.

Amaravati farmers had been to Delhi when the movement had started, and pledged their support to all those farmers in Delhi. Tikayath seems to have not forgotten their support, evidenced by his support to them in their movement for Amaravati right now. He said that he would go to Amaravati with all the farmers in Delhi, and pledge their support towards the movement for Amaravati. He said that he would help the farmers of Amaravati take this issue to the central government, and make sure that justice is served to them.

On the other hand, Tikayath has already pledged his support to the Visakha Steel Plant movement, in which people are protesting against the Centre’s decision to privatise the steel plan
