Shyam Singha Roy is an amazing story: Nani

Nani’s much-awaited film Shyam Singha Roy is all set to release worldwide on December 24. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film is backed by Venkat Boyanapalli under the banner of Niharika Entertainments. Ahead of the release, Nani interacted with the media on Wednesday.

“I usually like to watch movies in the theatre. I feel really excited to come up with Shyam Singh Roy, as it has been two years since my last film hit a big screen,” Nani said.

Speaking about the genre, he said, “Period films should be made only when there is a strong subject matter in the story. It is all about risk. Shyam Singh Roy has got an amazing story. Some sets are arranged so periodically that they do not feel like watching a movie. Feels like you went into that period yourself.”

“I have a lot of memories with Shyam Singh Roy. Looking back after the completion of the project reminds me of the shooting days again. We are very confident about the movie,” he added.

Nani said he immersed himself in the character as soon as the story was told. Nearly five months of pre-production work has been done in the armoury.

“Shyam Singha Roy has four episodes. I do not like to watch them as episodes. But goosebumps are definitely guaranteed when watching them. The way they are shaped in this story is amazing. They have a huge impact on the story,” the Jersey actor said.

“I saw the qualities of Jersey director Gautam in Shyam Singh Roy director Rahul. They get very excited about little things. At that age, that maturity is rare. I was shocked to see Rahul like that at the pre-release event. He never talked so much. He has a lot of clarity. Everything is said in detail and done too. He has a good grip on literature. If such a person makes a period film, it will be seen in more detail in this film,” Nani said about his director.

“Shyam Singh Roy gave me a lot of satisfaction after Jersey. I felt the same while working on both the films,” he added.
