Whenever elections are held, the politics of Gajapathinagaram constituency in Vizianagaram district stand out. Since the formation of the constituency, people from all walks of life have supported TDP here. TDP has won a maximum of five times from this constituency and is poised for victory in the 2024 assembly elections as well.
The TDP candidate (alliance), Kondapalli Srinivas (Appalanaidu Kondapalli), is contesting in the assembly elections from Gajapatinagaram. As an NRI and a highly educated leader, locals believe his victory is assured. People are convinced that a TDP win will propel both the state and the constituency forward. Srinivas, who is politically astute, is challenging Botsa Appala Narsaiah, the YSRCP candidate.
Botcha Appalanarasayya won as MLA from YSRCP in the 2019 election. Kondapalli Srinivas, as the Telugu Desam Party MLA candidate, Botcha Appalanarasiah as the YSRCP candidate, and Gadapu Kurminayudu from Congress are contesting in the 2024 elections. Despite strong opposition to Appalanarsaiah, the party has again allotted the ticket to the sitting MLA. Srinivas continues his campaign by exposing Narsaiah’s alleged corruption and irregularities in the constituency. Concurrently, hundreds of families in the constituency are being encouraged to join the TDP to bolster the party’s ranks.
