Vishwak Sen Paagal Movie Review

Vishwak Sen’s Paagal is the latest Telugu mid-range film to release in theaters. The trailer has built good buzz for the film. Let us see what the film has to offer.

Story: Prem(Vishwak Sen) loses his mother at a young age. He grows up, craving true and genuine love. In his attempt to experience unconditional love, Prem tries to woo every woman he meets. Will he be able to find true love in this big wide world? If yes, then how? The answers to these questions form the remaining plot.

What about on-screen performances?

Vishwak Sen, who was mostly seen in serious roles in his career undergoes a makeover of sorts for Paagal. He plays a ladies’ man in the love drama and he looks good on screen. He emotes equally well. Nivetha Pethuraj as the main female lead gets a brief role but she performs well. The other two female leads Simran Chaudhary and Meghaleka also get small roles but their characters fuel the narrative. The rest of the supporting cast deliver what is expected of them.

What about off-screen talents?

Debut director, Naressh Kuppili picks a well-rounded story that has a good dose of emotions, drama, and comedy. But as a package, all these elements don’t gel well. The cinematography is very impressive. The music is decent. A couple of songs are good to hear and the background score elevates the mood of the proceedings.

Verdict: Paagal has a decent premise but the execution is not of the desired perfection. It has its bright moments in the first half but the slow-paced second half is the spoilsport. The film is a middling love drama.
