The makers of Vaishnav Tej’s ‘Uppena’ were hesitant to release the film directly on digital platforms and persisted on theatrical release. Now that theaters are functional again, they are planning to release the film in theaters.
Coming to the topic, Netflix has reportedly bagged the digital rights of Uppena.
Netflix has acquired the post theatrical digital release rights of the Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty starrer. They are said to have paid a fancy price for the film’s rights.
Mythri Movie Makers who produced the project are yet to take the final call on the the theatrical release date. There is a talk that the film might be out in theaters coming summer.
Uppena was directed by debutante Buchibabu Sana. The songs managed to gain good attention for the film but the delay in release has dampened the buzz around for Uppena.
Interestingly enough, Vaishnav Tej who is making his debut with Uppena has already wrapped up his second film which has Krish at the helm. He is eagerly waiting for the release of Uppena now.
