Uppena, starring Vaishnav Tej and Kriti Shetty was supposed to have been released by now in theaters. However, because of the ongoing pandemic, all the theaters were shut down, which stalled the release of several films.
Directed by Buchi Babu and produced by Sukumar and Mythri Movie Makers, Devi Sri Prasad is the music director of the film. All the songs of the film have turned out to be a blockbuster among the audience, taking the expectations of the film to the next film.
Uppena has been made on a budget of Rs. 22 Crores, and according to the latest reports, the team of Uppena has rejected a massive offer. A top OTT platform is said to have made the team of Uppena an offer of Rs. 13 Crores for the digital rights of the film, but the film team has rejected the offer.
It seems the team wants to release the film only in theaters, for Christmas or for Sankranti. This is because Uppena is the debut film of Vaishnav Tej, and the Mega family wants to see their kin on the big-screen.
Uppena also stars Vijay Sethupathi in a key role.
