Pharmacy in India is big business and the industry is growing exponentially yielding high profits. As a part of the competition and the urge to gain more profits, several Pharma companies are influencing the doctors in the country to prescribe their drug.
On the other hand, they were raising the prices of the drug with the demand. Healthcare is a basic and affordable facility in several countries and the skyrocketing prices is making Indians feel tough to get the right medication. Several top Pharma companies were said to be influencing the market in this way and escalations raised of this topic and reached till Narendra Modi.
Speaking on this, Narendra Modi strictly warned the Pharma companies not to influence the doctors with bribes and other non ethical ways. Indian government is aiming to bring new rules in near future to control the situation in the Pharma field.
