Nine people died, including the suspect, in a shooting at an Allen outlet mall May 7th Saturday afternoon, and President Joe Biden confirmed the victims who were killed included children, though he did not specify how many.
A family representative confirmed that Aishwarya Thatikonda has been identified as dead after sustaining critical injuries in Dallas Allen Outlet Premium mall shooting. She was with a friend at the shopping mall when shooting happened. Her friend was also injured in the shooting and is currently stable in the hospital.
Aishwarya lived in McKinney and her family lives in India. As per online professional social media website she completed her Masters in 2020 in US and graduated from Osmania University Hyderabad in 2018, she is currently working as civil engineer in a construction company. Plans are underway to send her body to India.
The victims’ names have not been released at this time. The Texas Department of Public Safety, which is investigating the shooting, identified the suspect was 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia.
