KCR being called out for Nadda’s rally

It is common knowledge that Telangana Chief Minister KCR imposed a ban on all sorts of rallies, protests and public gatherings from December 25th, in view of the spreading of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus pandemic. He even ordered the arrest of BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay and sent him to 14-day jail, when Sanjay tried to hold a protest against the TRS government on GO 317, for the transfer of employees and teachers, on Sunday. Sanjay was sent to jail on Monday after the Karimnagar district court denied bail to him.

This did not sit well with the BJP leaders in the state and at the national level as well. As a result, BJP national president JP Nadda arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday (today) and took part in a candle rally in Secunderabad to protest Sanjay’s arrest. While the Police department obstructed him, saying that he wasn’t allowed to take part in any protests, when Nadda first landed in the Shamshabad airport, upon his insistence, Nadda was granted permission for his rally, on the condition that he stuck to covid protocols.

Given that the GO issued by KCR rules out any sort of public gatherings on the whole, whether they follow covid restrictions or not, KCR giving permission for Nadda’s rally is causing a lot of political uprising for KCR, with many calling him a hypocrite and for bending down to Nadda. It is being said that KCR chose to bow down to Nadda, fearing the consequences that he might have to face if his actions angered Amit Shah and Narendra Modi.
