Disappointed Kamma needs separate coastal AP.

From Amaravati to the north-coastal city of Visakhapatnam, they led by the YSR Congress Party government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The ongoing controversy over relocating the administrative capital seems to have disappointed a section of leaders of the Kammas community.

The frustration of this section increased to the extent that some of them are now demanding a separate state for coastal Andhra. Although Visakhapatnam is also a coastal city, these people are probably raising the demand for an independent state for the Kamma belt of Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts.

A recent post by an NRI Satish Chowrangi in social media read like this: Forget Chandrababu Naidu and forget the NDP. After facing so much injustice, we have no choice but to demand a separate coastal Andhra state. If BJP gives it, then we should say “Jai” for it; If Pawan Kalyan takes it up, we will support him. If we do not separate our castes and fight in unison, we will be left to beg. Income comes from us, but Anand belongs to them. We can’t stand it anymore.

This gentleman was disappointed with the fall of the capital city of Amravati because if not the capital. So does his project of the Costa Marina, which aimed at promoting tourism along the river. Also, Venkatapalem has become a venue for national and international water sports events. Amravati will be injured.

The project was floated by the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), which finalized the tenders and is one of the directors of Costa Marina and Changi Company.

The project proposes to develop an entertaining drive-in with an open-air theater and an outdoor game area in approximately two to three acres. TDP President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the project in early 2019.

The project was part of transforming the river Krishna coast area into an entertainment place where residents of the capital region could drive and spend some quality time. The plan was taken up under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Now, Amaravati is ready to go into history; all such fancy projects will go to the dust bin. It is why investors like Chowringhee are disappointed.
