Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Netflix top charts

Netflix India, content vice President, Monika Shergill said over 80% of Netflix users in india prefer to watch at least 1 film per week.

The digital streaming platform registered a 250% increment in viewing in 2020 when compared to 2019.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, Kappela, and UMUR featured in top 10 charts, she revealed.

Monika said Bollywood film Ludo is the most popular comedy film of the year on Netflix. Action thrillers like Raat Akeli Hai, Extraction, Malang, and The Old Guard performed pretty well in the Indian market, she adds.

The viewing of documentaries has increased by 100% with Bad Boy Billionaires, The social dilemma, and Money Heist: The Phenomenon on the top of the list.

Spanish thriller Money Heist which became revelation across the globe featured in the top 10 chart in India for 170 days.

India registered the highest viewing of films on Netflix globally.
