The Rajasthan government on Friday made it compulsory for people coming from Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat to provide a COVID-19 negative report on their arrival in the state.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot spearheaded the gathering. The new rule was imposed at the meeting involving many dignitaries of the Rajasthan government to audit the Covid circumstance in the state following a surge in number of Covid cases in the neighbouring states. 195 new cases were reported on Friday by health bulletin.
A negative COVID-19 report from a RT-PCR test made 72 hours before entering Rajasthan is obligatory for individuals coming from Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, an official notice said.
Gehlot said, all safety precautions have to be followed despite receiving vaccine. He also said the COVID-19 vaccination drive is going on at a considerably satisfacory pace in the state but there is a dire requirement to boost it.
He commanded officials to launch a campaign to encourage beneficiaries entitled to get vaccinated to not step back and take the jab.
At the conference, government planned that anganwadi centres and schools for students up to Class 5 will remain shut till March 31, the statement said.
