A large-scale movement is going on in AP to protect the Visakhapatnam steel plant. People of AP are opposing the privatization of the steel plant.
On the other hand, CM Jagan is writing letters to the Center asking for a steel plant to be set up in Kadapa.
But the Center has allotted the steel industry to Odisha, leaving aside the Kadapa. The Minister for Steel has taken the industry to his home state with an investment of Rs 50,000 crore.
World steel giant ArcelorMittal wants to set up a steel plant in India. In this backdrop, the Indian government gave a green signal to set up it in Odisha and allotted special mines and an investment of Rs 50,000 crore.
Experts are of the view that allocating mines to the Visakhapatnam steel industry would be more profitable rather than this move by the Union govt.
