Twitter donates over Rs 110 Crore for COVID-19 relief in India

While India is battling the second wave of Covid-19, many countries and several tech giants are coming forward to lend their support in fighting the virus.

Now, Microblogging giant Twitter has donated $15 million (roughly Rs 110 crores) to help address the COVID-19 crisis in India.

Twitter CEO Jack Patrick Dorsey on Monday tweeted that they have donated the amount to three non-governmental organisations – Care, Aid India and Sewa International USA.

While CARE has been given $10 million, AID and Sewa International USA have received $2.5 million each. As per the company, this grant will support the acquisition of lifesaving equipment such as oxygen concentrators, ventilators, BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) and CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machines.
