After calling off the TSRTC strike for conducting it for 52 long days, it seems, Telangana Chief Minister KCR is making sure that he does not receive their heat in the upcoming municipal elections. So the dynamic CM is in a mood of pleasing them with few sops.
Apart from granting two months of pending salaries to the TSRTC workers, the state government also assured to provide bonus just like how it has been paying for Singareni workers, if TSRTC makes profits.
On the other side, the corporation is running in severe losses as claimed before. At this crisis time, the situation had turned even worse, as it paid salaries to the employees even though they haven’t worked for the past 52 days. Unwilling to face burden anymore, it now shifted the pain towards public by hiking RTC ticket rates. The minimum ticket price has been increased to Rs. 10 thus making Rs. 0.20 paise for every kilometre.

The burden may not be huge for those who travel to nearby places, but all the pain will be for those who completely depend on RTC buses to travel long. Adding to it, the corporation also hiked bus pass rates. While Ordinary bus pass rate has been hiked from Rs. 770 to Rs. 950, Metro pass has been hiked to Rs. 1070 from the earlier Rs. 880.
As KCR shifted TSRTC burden towards the public, there is an every chance for him to face the public’s heat soon.
