TRS goes into defense mode as Hyderabad continues to sink

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has been the center of various criticisms ever since the nonstop rains have taken Hyderabad into a state of drowning. The government is not doing all that is necessary, but is doing one thing – which is criticising rules of united Andhra Pradesh, for the current devastation in Hyderabad.

In the beginning, at least in the last tenure, when TRS took the names of the old governments that ruled during Andhra Pradesh, it used to make a little sense, given that the TRS had only a few years to work on the state. However, it is now high time the TRS starts blaming itself for whatever is happening in the state, this is what the public thinks. It’s been more than 5 years since Telangana has been formed, and since TRS came to power, then why is the party still blaming the old rulers?

Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav spoke in a similar manner, saying that there’s a lot of flooding in Hyderabad because the constructions that the previous governments made were all in low-lying areas, and that they were not adequately constructed either. Fact remains that Yadav was one of those government members in the past, having changed his parties and now working from the TRS. For him to say this way is drawing a lot of flak towards him.

Yadav also said that more than 1 Lakh houses will have to be demolished in Hyderabad to rectify the situation, and asked if that is to be done, in a very sarcastic manner. Maybe, whatever TRS members say make for good political arguments, but they most certainly don’t make for good arguments when the public is concerned. The government actually needs to take steps to help the people and better the situation, simply blaming others will only make the people lose their belief and trust in the government, which is not something TRS can afford right now.
