For months together, campaigning for the Tirupati by-elections has been going on by various parties. Telugu Desam Party was the first to start its campaign after it announced Panabaka Lakshmi as its candidate.
BJP and Kana Sena announced Ratna Prabha as their candidate and even held a public meeting iN Triuapti, where they interacted with the people of Tirupati. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was also present at the meeting, where he urged the people of Tirupati to vote for honesty and justice and to not vote for money.
The YSRCP announced Gurumoorthy as its candidate, who also happens to be Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s personal physiotherapist. The YSRCP too has been campaigning vigorously for the past few days.
Today, with the polls going live, these three candidates have cast their votes and have requested and urged the people to exercise their right to vote as well. THe results are expected to be announced on May 2nd.
