Given the fact that cinema halls have shut operations, the makers of medium-budget films are contemplating OTT release. The likes of Thank You Brother, Ek Mini Katha and Cinema Bandi have already gone thr OTT way.
Now, three other mainstream Telugu films are set to join the OTT bandwagon.
Vishwak Sen’s Paagal is in final leg of production and Dil Raju, who is funding the project wants to release it directly on OTT. He is already in talks with Amazon Prime regarding the same. Venkatesh’s Drishyam 2 is also going the OTT way. Reports suggest that Amazon Prime had already bagged the direct to digital rights of the film. The premieres date will be announced soon.
Nithin’s Maestro is the third film on the list and the makers will soon be initiating talks with top OTT portals.
With so much uncertainty surrounding theatrical business, we can expect quite a few films to premiere directly on OTT in the near future.
