Akkineni Naga Chaitanya starrer Thank You under the direction of Vikram K Kumar has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Set in the US backdrop, Abhiram( Naga Chaitanya) succeeds well with his diagnostic app. For the entire process, Priya( Raashi Khanna) funds Abhi but soon after becoming a successful entrepreneur, Abhi turns self-centered and arrogant. Fed up with Abhi’s changed behaviour, Priya leaves him. Later, the proceedings lead to self-realization of Abhi and makes him go on a Thank You tour to meet the people who helped him to reach the position he is enjoying. What kind of emotional incidents will Abhi comes across in the journey, forms the main USB of the film.

On-screen performances:

Naga Chaitanya gave his best of the film which is visible on screen in his performance. The actor in Chay pulls off different emotions with ease and brings depth to the proceedings. His acting in the multi-layered character is a plus point for the film.

Raashi Khanna’s screen presence and her emotional acting adds realistic texture to to a couple of scenes in both halves. Yet another heroine Malavika Nair impresses with her acting in limited screen time.

Actress Avika Gor is okay in her extended cameo role. Sai Sushanth Reddy registers with his acting in a couple of key episodes. Prakash Raj and Eswari Rao are fine in their extended cameo roles.

Off-screen talents:

The photography work by ace photographer PC Sreeram is outstanding as he tried to showcase the entire film on a lavish note with his lens. Music by Thaman is alright but nothing great to mention in particular.

Editing by Naveen Nooli is okay. A few dialogues which comes during the crucial juncture register well. Production values for this limited budget movie are superb.

Coming to the direction, Vikram K Kumar who is known for delivering minimum guarantee films has missed the target with Thank You as the film lacks a proper connectivity. The story provided by BVS Ravi has not novelty in it.

Positive Points:

  • Naga Chaitanya
  • Couple of emotional episodes

Negative Points:

  • Story
  • Screenplay

Verdict:

In an overview, Thank You is a predictable life journey of Abhiram that has no high moments in the narrative. Though Chay’s acting is good, the dull and flat presentation makes Thank You a below-average fare.
