Its a known fact that YSRCP emerged as the winner with a thumping majority in 2019 Andhra Pradesh general elections. While this came as a shock to Chandrababu Naidu, he is not taking his defeat lying down. He and his advisers are exploring all options to bring Jagan down.
TeluguBulletin learnt from reliable sources that Telugu Desam party is planning to file a ‘Lunch Motion’ petition in the High court on Monday, challenging Jagan Mohan Reddy’s swearing in as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh citing his criminal cases. Lunch Motions are generally used for emergency petitions that get processed the same day after lunch when they are filed in the morning. In 2014, Supreme Court of India passed a landmark verdict where it advised that charge sheeted minsters should not serve in the government. There are currently 31 ‘pending criminal cases’ against Jagan according to the 51 page affidavit filed by him during his nomination for 2019 general elections. Out of these 31 cases, 11 are pending with CBI, 7 are ED cases and 13 are booked in police stations across the two Telugu states. Jagan’s affidavit can be downloaded from ECI website using below link
