Supreme Court confirmed Jagan’s complaint on NV Ramana as a conspiracy, says TOI report

The leading English-daily, Times of India, has partially revealed the details of the trial over the allegations made by CM Jagan against Supreme Court Judge Justice NV Ramana.

The Supreme Court held an in-house hearing in this matter. It also declared that it is impossible to disclose those details to the public.

According to the Times of India article, the SC CJI SA Bobde conducted an internal investigation on the allegations made by AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy against Justice NV Ramana.

CJI Bobde and two other senior judges examined every allegation made by Jaganmohan Reddy on Justice NV Ramana. One of the two judges examined the lands which Justice Ramana claimed to have bought and the other judge examined the allegations of abuse of power.

Both the judges submitted their report to the CJI. In the case of lands, the judge noted that the NV was purchased in 2015, shortly after the declaration of capital. Hence, CJI confirmed that the allegations made by Jagan were false, conspiratorial and intentional. The Times of India quoted that it was an attempt to disqualify Judge NV Ramana.

Also, Jaganmohan Reddy made allegations against AP High Court Chief Justice JK Maheshwari alleging that he was being influenced by Justice NV Ramana. Finally, the report concluded that they were false allegations. Based on the report of two judges, CJI dismissed the complaint filed by Jaganmohan Reddy. Later, CJI Bobde sent a letter to the Central Judiciary confirming NV Ramana’s eligibility for the post of Chief Justice of India.
