A tragic incident took place in the Godavari river at the Sriram Sagar project in Nizamabad. Six people were dead when they went for a bath in the Godavari at Pochampad VIP Pushkarghat. The first five went for a swim in the river and drowned.
Two others went to rescue them and they too drowned. Locals rescued one of the seven people who went for a swim in the river. Arrived at the scene with the information of the locals the swimmers performed relief measures but to no avail. Six bodies were found dead in the vicinity of the wreckage.
The dead were identified as Bobbili Srinivas(40) of Ellammagutta, Nizamabad, his sons Srikar(14), Siddharth(16), Raju(24) of the Gutpa village. Yogesh(16) of Deekampally in Nandipet zone and Suresh (42). The fact that all the dead were close relatives filled their families with immense tragedy.
