Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar‘s term as the SEC has come to an end today, after five years. He went through several difficulties in the process, by fighting the AP government and securing his post as the SEC of the state.
Speaking to the media on his last day, Nimmagadda said that the last five years have given him immense satisfaction as the SEC, and said that the local body elections and municipal elections have especially made him content. He thanked the collectors and the police department for cooperating with him in conducting those elections successfully.
On the other hand, Nilam Sawhney, the ex-CS of Andhra Pradesh, is all set to take charge as the new SEC of Andhra Pradesh. It is expected that she would release the notification for the ZPTC and MPTC elections tomorrow after she has taken charge.
It is expected that these elections will take place on April 8th and that the counting will take place on April 10th. Sawhney is also expected to start the election process as soon as she assumes office.
