New rules: 8 Lakh Indians in Kuwait to be under trouble

Kuwait is one of the middle eastern locations where several Indians, especially the ones working in construction field, migrate to. As per the statistics the total population of Kuwait is around 43 lakhs and in that 30 lakhs are said to be immigrants.

To control the immigration in the country, the politicians of Kuwait were said to be working on a new rule which restricts Indian population in Kuwait to no more than 15%. Currently there are 14.5 lakh Indians in Kuwait and as per that rule the maximum number of Indian allowed in Kuwait will be around 6.5 lakhs. So, 8 lakh Indians are in excess in the country.

Currently the rule is not yet implemented but if this rule comes into picture, 8 lakh Indians may lose their livelihood and return back to India. We have to wait to know more details on what skill set restrictions Kuwait will implement to reduce the immigrant population.
