After Covid-19 came into picture, while the entire nation is under lock down, Police and Healthcare were working tirelessly day and night to protect the people from the pandemic. In spite of the orders from the Government, several people used to roam in the public ignoring the lock down rules and the Police department took charge to keep people safe.
While doing all of this, the chances for the Policemen to get infected by Covid-19 is high as they will be regularly interacting with the public and no one knows who has the virus and who doesn’t. As per the details, around 466 policemen in AP were said to be Covid-19 positive and the count is said to be raising.
Even in other states, several Policemen were encountering Covid-19 positive situation. DGP Gautam Sawang mentioned that the Police department is taking measures to control Covid-19 cases in the department and the Policemen above 55 years of age and the ones who are suffering from various health issues are not being assigned Covid-19 protection tasks to make sure they stay safe.
