Mixing Covid-19 vaccines is safe and effective: Study

Despite the availability of the Coronavirus vaccine worldwide, research on its effectiveness is still ongoing. Studies are underway to combine two doses of two separate vaccines.

As part of this, a new study has found that taking the vaccine in a mixed manner is more effective against covid-19 compared to taking the same vaccine in two doses. Taking different doses has been shown to reduce the threat of the virus. The study was published in The Lancet Europe, a leading international journal. Previous experiments at Oxford University have yielded similar results.

The Swedish public health department analyzed the data to find out the results of taking mixed vaccine doses. The combination of AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines reduced the risk of infection by 67 percent. It has been found that the risk is reduced by 79% due to the intake of AstraZeneca and Moderna. Swedish scientists have concluded that taking the same AstraZeneca vaccine in two doses reduces the risk by only 50 percent.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that although the vaccine may provide better results, it should be studied on a large scale for safety and efficacy. However, a recent study did not reveal how long these results will protect. Swedish experts say further studies on these will continue.
