Man who ‘slept with 6,000 women’ dies while having intercourse

Maurizio Zanfanti, popularly known as the Romeo of Rimini, slept with over 6,000 women throughout his life and even died, while having intercourse with a tourist girl.

Zanfanti is a nightclub promoter alongside the beach in Italy. At the age of 17 in 1972, he started his illustrious career, while working for a nightclub called ‘Blow Up’.

He mainly aimed at convincing German and Scandinavian tourists on the street, to sleep with him. He had little difficulty with olive skin, long, flowing locks and hairy chest. But he boasted it in a successful summer in his prime he could sleep with around 200 women.

Zanfanti used to work for tourist agencies in Scandinavia, in winter. A few of his lovers even erected his wax statue in a Swedish town. Not stopping there, in 1986, Italian newspaper L’Espresso identified him as “Italy’s most successful lover.”

In one of his interviews, Zanfanti also claimed that he seduced a French journalist. Earlier in 80s, a group of Swedish women flew in for a reunion, where Zanfanti was invited as a guest of honour.

In 2014, in his final interview with German newspaper BILD, Zanfanti has announced his retirement saying that he is getting too old for it.

Zanfanti lost his life due to a fatal heart attack, when he was having intercourse with a Romanian tourist in the back of a car.

Describing Zanfanti’s death, a local media said that it was the way, the man once called “Italy’s most successful lover” would have wanted to go.

“Zanza died after doing what he did best — loving women,” Il Resto Del Carlino, a Bologna newspaper, reported.

The mayor of Rimini said Italy had lost “a legend of the night”.
