Kcr cabinet meeting and final decisions made on various things

The Telangana Cabinet meeting which was held at Pragathi Bhavan yesterday which was chaired by K Chandra Sekhar Rao took some crucial decisions. Unlike the AP government, they didn’t opt for the re-opening of the schools but decided to conduct digital classes for students of all classes in association with Doordarshan for this purpose.

Later KCR spent most of his time in finalizing the design of the new secretariat and approved its construction. The new secretariat would come up in an area of 7,00,000 sq.ft with a budget of Rs 400 crore. It will be equipped with state-of-the-art connectivity and other features.

On the ongoing COVID pandemic, Chief Minister directed the officials to conduct 40,000 tests a day at the least and discussed with some doctors and the health care officials on the developments in medical facilities and also urged people not to panic as the state is ready to treat any number of patients that are infected.

In the most crucial advancement, the Telangana government is following in the footsteps of the AP. The Cabinet also approved a draft to provide employment opportunities to the majority of the locals, while giving various incentives to the industries to be set up in the state. They approved the latest policy which will come into force immediately under which local human resources required for industries to be set up in the state will be provided collaboration with government, industrial, and educational institutions.

However, the incentives are being given to industries by the government that employs locals and those numbers vary from one state to another. For example, 70% of the incentives will be by the government in Maharashtra, 75% in AP, and 70% in Madhya Pradesh.

But, the Telangana state government has decided to give incentives in two categories in the wake of constant criticism over the policy. Subsidies and incentives are given to industries that employ 70 percent of locals in the semi-skilled category and 60 percent in the skilled category. These are in addition to the discounts and incentives that are being offered to Tea Pride and Tea Ideas.

10% discount on VAT / CST / GST will be offered for medium and large scale industries in the skilled category. There are no subsidies for micro and small scale industries. Micro and small scale industries will be given as an incentive of 50 paise per unit for five years in the semi-skilled category.
