Lupin stated Favipiravir has got an authorisation from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for emergency use in treating mild to moderate covid-19 symptoms. The dosage strength of covihalt is made at 200 my by considering the ease of administration.
Similarly on August 4, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries had released Favipiravir under the brand name ”FluGuard” at a price of Rs 35 per tablet. It is also used for treating mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19.
