Botsa Satyanarayana is one of the most influential names in Andhra Pradesh politics, and even so in Vizianagaram politics. Botsa Satyanarayana is currently enjoying the position of a minister in Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cabinet, and if sources are to be believed, not everything seems to be good between the two.
Botsa was one of the late YSR’s favourites and even ruled Vizianagaram single-handedly, as whatever the minister said back then, was the rule of the place. Things are not the same anymore though, with Botsa going to Delhi and meeting Union ministers without informing anyone beforehand, and the YSRCP giving more importance to Vizianagaram MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy.
Jagan had considered Swamy’s recommendations for the recently concluded municipal elections, instead of Botsa’s, and Jagan is also said to have ignored Botsa’s recommendation of transferring four DSPs in the district. This is very clear proof that Jagan is giving importance to Botsa, but not as much as Botsa would want to be given. It is also being said that Botsa will be reshuffled in the cabinet ranks, and while he’ll be retained, he won’t be given a high priority post. This makes one wonder why, and what the reasons could be, between Jagan and Botsa not being so close.
