Star heroine Keerthy Suresh’s female-centric film, Good Luck Sakhi directed by Bollywood filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor has hit the screens today. Let’s analyse it.

Story:

A retired Colonel (Jagapathi Babu) lands in a rural village in Anantapuram district to train and sent sharp shooters for the country. In the process, he crosses paths with a girl named Sakhi (Keerthy Suresh), who has inbuilt talent of focusing and hitting the target. What kind of hurdles will Colonel undergo while training Sakhi? Will Sakhi emerge victorious and brings fame to Colonel and her village? Forms the rest of the story.

On-screen performances:

Keerthy Suresh perfectly fitted in the role of a girl from a remote village. Her physical transformation and dialogue delivery adds realistic texture to the narrative. Being a good actress, Keerthy did justice to the given role and carried the entire film on her shoulders.

Jagapathi Babu is fine in his role as the coach and his motivational speeches are placed nicely in the proceedings.

Aadhi Pinishetty is okay in his extended cameo role and his chemistry with Keerthy is showcased in a decent manner in the first half. Rahul Ramakrishna is alright in his negative shaded character. Bigg Boss fame Swetha Varma is okay in her cameo role.

Off-screen talents:

Directed Nagesh Kukunoor’s vision of exploring the women empowerment concept through the film is good but his writing is plain and the execution part lacks proper high moments.

Music by Devi Sri Prasad is good as a few situational songs are passable on the screen. His background score is apt for the film’s genre.

Cinematography by Chirantan Das is nice as he showcased the entire film on an authentic note. Editing by Sreekar Prasad is alright. Thd sound mixing is done poorly as majority of the dialogues in the film lack proper clarity.

Production values for this limited budget film are okay.

Positive Points:

  • Keerthy Suresh
  • Runtime

Negative Points:

  • Screenplay
  • Lack of gripping presentation

Verdict:

In an overview, Good Luck Sakhi is a rural drama that runs in the backdrop of sharp shooting. Though Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu and Aadhi Pinishetty gave good performance, predictable narration and lack of strong conflict point makes Good Luck Sakhi a below-average fare.
