All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) director Dr. Randeep Guleria has said that those with mild to moderate symptoms of Covid do not need to undergo a CT scan.
Speaking to the media, he revealed, “Several studies have shown that 30-40% of asymptomatic CT scans give positive corona results. Also, the patches that appear in it will disappear without any treatment. A single CT scan is equivalent to 300-400 x-rays, and there is a risk of developing cancer in the early stages of life if you go with a CT scan. This threat is more among youngsters. So if there is any doubt, people should go for an X-ray first. Also, those with light or mild corona symptoms should not even go for blood tests.
