In Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district, Shiva Babu, the personal assistant of former MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar and three workers of the opposition TDP were severely injured in an attack on Sunday night near Koppaka in Pedavegi mandal, which was allegedly orchestrated by the YSRCP members.
The TDP men were on their way to Pedakadimi village, while they were stopped by the group of YSRCP members when they reached Alugulagudem. They were reportedly attacked with sticks and rods, and were shifted to a government-run hospital in Eluru after the attack. Shiva Babu sustained severe injuries to his head, and was admitted to a private hospital in the town.
Shiva Babu alleged that K. Ranga Rao, P. Shiva and others attacked them. After taking a statement from the victims, the Police tried to control the situation in the area. Chintamaneni Prabhakar’s wife Radha called on the injured Shiva Babu and other TDP workers at the hospital.
