Fear triggers as two colleges in Hyderabad violates covid-19 protocol

Ignoring social distancing norms in schools and colleges across the city has triggered fear among parents and teachers. They raised concerns that these institutions might transform into Covid hotspots if guidelines continue to be violated.

Subsequently, the Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TSCPCR), in association with the District Intermediate Education Officer, Ranga Reddy, examined junior colleges in the city on Thursday.

Two colleges in the city were learnt to have violated COVID-19 protocol. The authorities found that the Sindhu Girls Campus of Narayana Junior College and Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Vivin Towers, in Miyapur were disregarding the social distancing standards by jam packing almost 100 students in a room.

“More than 100 young were going to the classes in a single study room. These students are likewise allotted the same hostel”, TSCPCR, in a report to Commissioner of Board of Intermediate Education, said.

“Atleast three to four pupils are made to sit on a single bench. Instead of 300 individuals colleges are accommodating 800 risking everyone’s lives”, said a lecturer of a college.

It additionally saw that around 60 young girls were seen in the study hall at Sri Chaitanya Junior College. The TSCPCR urged that the Board Commissioner make an essential move against the schools to curb such violations.
