Covid-19 chain infection involves 40,000 people including tabligh group

The royal malaysian police found surprisingly 40,000 people involved in the Covid-19 chain infection, including those linked to tabligh assembly.

Inspector- General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador stated the data was extracted by a task force from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) spearheaded by Bukit Aman CID Chief Huzir Mohammed to figure out who are more prone to get affected by corona virus. He said from the data provided by the Ministry of health, the police had identified about 11,000 tabligh members who attended the congregation at the Sri Petaling Mosque.

”The team filtered the data and used certain methods to detect the network of close contacts, and also the people who might be victimized by those involved,” he told in Bukit Aman.

“We identified the individuals and got complete information that contains home address, telephone number and identity card number, inorder to make them available for Covid-19 screening,” Abdul Hamid said.

The team was also trying to get information on tabligh members who are abroad and details on them would be sent to the Immigration authorities, whereby the police will enforce necessary action to escort them to the quarantine centre for the mandatory 14-day quarantine,” he said.

While on the other hand, Delhi government has blacklisted 960 foreigners involved in Tablighi Jamaat meetings and cancelled the tourist visas for violating lock down measures. The ministry of Home affairs identified 9000 members and pulling up the socks to trace out, and minimize the corona spread that could be a potential threat.
