Celebs across south industry share deep condolences on demise of director- cinematographer KV Anand

Tamil director-cinematographer KV Anand breathed his last on Friday in Chennai of a heart attack at the age of 54. Reportedly, Anand experienced a chest pain at his residence in Chennai in the early hours of Friday. He managed to drive himself to the nearby hospital, where he breathed his last around 3 am due to heart attack. His body will be moved to his home in Adayar where people can pay their death rites.

Anand began his career as a freelance photojournalist before he worked as an assistant under award-winning cinematographer PC Sreeram. He associated with Sreeram on Tamil films such as Kamal Haasan’s Devar Magan and Mani Ratnam’s Thiruda Thiruda in the early 90s. Later Anand bagged an opportunity from Priyadarshan for the 1996 film Thenmavin Kombath.

He received the National Film Award for Best cinematography for that film, which had Mohanlal and Shobana in the lead roles. And since then he went to shine with his phenomenal works as a director and cinematographer for Indian films till date.

Late Anand made his directorial debut with the 2005 movie Kana Kandaen. He went on to shoot some incredible films across many Indian languages including Minnaram, Punya Bhoomi Naa Desam and Kadhal Desam, Ayan, Ko, Maattrraan, Anegan, Kavan and Kaappaan. He has credits in recent times as a cameraman for Boys and Shivaji. And also for Hindi films such as Josh, Nayak: The Real Hero, The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Khakee.

Anand’s untimely passing has made everyone drowned in sadness. Many stars across the south that include Mohan Laal, Rajnikanth, Prithvi Raj, Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish, Radhika Sarathkumar mourned his shocking death and shared deep condolences to the family.
