The coming season of IPL is commencing in a day with the first game between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru scheduled for the 22nd of March.
With just hours to go for the start of the tournament, Chennai Super Kings have announced that Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as the new captain of the side and he will be replacing Dhoni.
“MS Dhoni has handed over Chennai Super Kings’ captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the start of TATA IPL 2024.
Ruturaj has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2019 and has played 52 matches in IPL during this period. The team looks forward to the upcoming season” the statement from CSK read on this matter.
Chennai will operate under the new captaincy of Ruturaj henceforth. It has to be seen how his captaincy stint with CSK will be like.
