All the opposition parties except the ruling party welcomed the High Court’s clear verdict on the conduct of the panchayat elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Along with this, they are asking for the cancellation of all the old consensus and give new notifications again and hold elections.
The same view was expressed at a previous meeting of the SEC with the opposition political parties.
Even now the opposition parties are expressing the same opinion. The SEC will cancel the whole process of the MPTC and ZPTC nomination and will issue a fresh notification again.
If the panchayat elections are held, the SEC will take the same decision. Therefore, the government wants to go to the Supreme Court and bring the stay to postpone panchayat elections in AP.
