A 24-year-old youth from Tirupati, B. Sai Praneeth, who calls himself the “AP Weatherman”, and did his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, was recently mentioned and praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat, where the PM praised Praneeth for his meteorological work that is helping the farmers of the state.
Praneeth observes and analyzes the weather situation in the state, which he then uses to help out the farmers of the state, by giving them suggestions on how to tackle unforeseen climate changes, and how to prevent crop loss, in the local language. A lot of farmers frequently suffer due to unseasonal rainfall and other unexpected climatic changes. With Praneeth’s guidance on what to do and what not to do, a lot of farmers are currently in a much better position.
Praneeth is said to have had a keen interest in meteorology since childhood and is currently putting his passion to good use. He started blogging on the same since last year and has channels on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. While the content in these channels is in NElginsh due to the audiences mostly belonging to urban areas, he conveys the same in Telugu for the farmers. The UN-Habitat Journal’s website featured Sai Praneeth’s work last month as well, and with the PM now lauding Praneeth’s work, it looks like he is about to achieve more.
