An aerial technology to track lock down violators!

Drone-based surveillance was launched by the Rachakonda Police on Monday with an aim to keep a track of lockdown violators. The drones were formally launched by Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat at his office in Neredmet.

Surveillance will be made on trial basis by the police at Pahadishareef, Moula Ali and Balapur before releasing at other areas in the city. Uttar Pradesh, police forces have already opted drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to surveil people and prevent the crowd gatherings during this three-week lockdown.

Inspired by this, Global engineering and technology solutions company, Cyient also came up with an initiative of the Drone-Based Surveillance Technology to assist the Telangana Police for their relentless service.

“Equipped with surveillance cameras, thermal imaging payloads and sky speakers for public announcements, Cyient’s drone-based aerial inspection capability is expected to amp up the police’s efficiency to contain the corona spread,” said an official in a press release here.

By providing information on a real-time basis, the surveilance technology gives police force to understand and deploy resources effectively to manage any further issues.

“This technology is assisting our ground forces to monitor sensitive areas in the city. Visuals from the drones would assist in taking right decisions on moving forces to sensitive areas. It also enables the police for introducing lockdown-related announcements and organise security forces to monitor the people in congested areas of the city,” said Bhagwat.
