White ration cards are issued in AP for the people who are below the poverty line. Generally, people having white ration cards can buy household items at subsidized rate from the government. Interestingly, few white ration card holders bought lands in Amaravathi at Rs.3 Crores per acre.
As per the information, around 100 acres of land in Amaravathi was owned by white ration card holders. This attracted the attention of CID and AP government has reportedly identified these cases and handed over the case to CID for investigation.
It is known that YSRC is revealing information on the TDP politicians who owned lands in and around Amaravathi. Few YSRC leaders commented on farmers wearing costly jewelry during the protests. AP government is said to have a detailed information of the people who owned property above 1 Crore in Amaravathi region. As a part of this report, the government officials have identified the white ration card holders who are not below the poverty line.
