These days, overseas has turned out to be a nightmare for Tollywood producers. Gone are the days where Tollywood producers pocket in millions of dollars citing Telugu hero’s market.
Evolution in digital platforms have made life tougher for filmmakers as audience have cut short their visit to theaters.
They are indeed waiting to watch those films in OTT platforms like Prime, Netflix, etc., High ticket pricing is one of the main reasons for the audience to shift towards digital platforms.
For a star hero movie, more than $20, $25 has been the ticket pricing in overseas which is too high for any moviegoer. For premiers, it will be much higher.
With Tollywood facing continuous losses, finally few filmmakers have decided to bring down the prices. Makers of Ala Vaikunthapuramulo had discussed with their US distributors and have decided that prices should be audience-friendly.
It is learned that Ticket pricing goes around $14 for adults and $9 for a child. This will be the same for premiers too. Both distributors and producers are expecting that it will give a long run for the film.
Ala Vaikunthapuramulo has been sold to decent pricing too. We have to wait and see whether this strategy will work out or not. US premiers for the film will be on January 11th.
