The Tirumala Tirupati Temple has made a sensational decision. TTD issued orders to reinstate retired priests.
In addition to the retired chief priests, other priests were also ordered to join the duties. TTD took this decision as per 38118/2018 High Court judgment.
On the other hand, it has been announced that the Temple will confer the position of Chief Priest on Ramana dikshithulu. However, it is unclear about the present temple’s chief priests. TTD did not say anything about them in its orders.
In May 2018, the TTD Governing Council decided to impose an age limit on priests serving in TTD. With this, TTD imposed retirement on all those above 65 years of age.
However, a priest along with the Thiruchanur chief priest went to court challenging the TTD decision. The court issued orders ordering their re-appointment.
