5 dead after 40 people fall into well in MP’s Vidisha

In a tragic incident, at least five people were killed after nearly 40 villagers fell into a well in a process of rescuing a girl who had fallen into it in the Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

As per reports, the officials have found five bodies and over 19 people are rescued. As many as 13 people are still missing. The rescue operations are underway in Vidisha. The National Disaster Management Force and the State Disaster Management Force stepped in to help.

The incident took place at Ganj Basoda, about 50 km from the district headquarters. Reports said the well is around 50-ft deep with a water level of about 20 feet.

Going into the details, a girl fell into the well and some people climbed down to save her while others were standing on the surrounding wall to help them. When the wall suddenly crashed, all the people who stood on it fell inside.
