Bengaluru: In the last few days, news of a dispute between a young woman claiming to be social media influencer and a Zomato delivery boy has been creating quite a stir on social media. It has been alleged that a Zomato delivery boy attacked the female customer Hitesha Chandrani who cancelled the order due to a delay in food delivery. Later the delivery boy Kamaraj was arrested by the Bangalore police in this connection.
Surprisingly, Kamaraj, who is currently out on bail has filed a case against the girl. The police action against Hitesha Chandranee 31, followed a counter-complaint by the delivery executive. Kamraj had denied all accusations made by the woman that he barged in her home and punched on her face.
“I apologised for handing the order late due to traffic jam and asked for the food to be returned as the order was cancelled. But she did not agree. Over and over I was accused of using obscene language and even hurled a shoe on me. In this order she inadvertently wounded herself. Eventually, she complained to the police that I had assaulted her. In fact, she insulted me with obscene language. That’s why I filed a case against her”, stated Kamaraj.
According to a complaint lodged by Kamaraj, the police have registered a case against the girl under sections 341, 355 and 504 of the IPC. However, the young lady still asserted, “I have never cursed a delivery boy before. First he himself behaved very rudely”.
