It is highly likely that the schools in Telangana might remain closed for longer, in spite of some classes reopening recently, due to the surge of COVID-19 cases being reported in the neighbouring states. The state government officials and Telangana health minister Eatala Rajender has also alerted the private hospitals to be ready to receive COVID-19 patients, in case the number of daily cases rise once again.
Earlier parents demanded the government to monitor the situation and reconsider its decision to begin schools, especially for younger children.
They asserted that it is quite conspicuous that children are acting as transmitting agents in spreading Covid-19 as cases have increased markedly. With that centre seem to have reconsidered the decision and now the schools will remain shut atleast till March 31st.
Owing to the rise in covid cases in Maharashtra, health department officials are setting various precautionary measures to curb the pandemic amid second wave. They have iterated that restrictions may be imposed at district levels to end the virus from spreading.
The new spike in COVID-19 cases in the state over the last few days has compelled centre to be on high alert. High-density areas have been under surveillance and are kept on a vigilance too.
