The issue of Zomato‘s food delivery in Bengaluru has escalated beyond compare, after the person who ordered it, Hitesh Chandrani, a beauty influencer, uploaded a video of hers on social media, where she can be seen bleeding. In the video, Hitesha said that the delivery boy hit her, simply because she asked him why he was late. Following that video, the delivery boy, Kamaraj, released his own version of the story.
Kamaraj said that he did not touch the customer, and was simply defending himself when the customer was abusing and hitting him. He said that the customer hit herself accidentally while hitting him and that he had nothing to do with it.
While the issue continues to spread, Zomato co-founder, Deepinder Goyal, has finally responded about the issue and shared his version of the story. Deepinder said that Kamaraj has been suspended from his delivery duties currently, owing to protocols, but assured that Kamaraj’s legal expenses and salary are being covered by Zomato.
Deepinder also said that they are in touch with Hitesha as well, and are taking care of her medical expenses. Deepinder said that they are cooperating with the Police department in the investigation that is being done, and are giving their full support wherever and whenever required.
Speaking about Kamaraj, Deepinder said that Kamaraj has been working with Zomato for over 26 months now, and has done nearly 5000 deliveries so far, with a 4.75/5 rating, which is one of the highest. Deepinder said that all of these are facts and that none of it has been fabricated, and signed off saying that he hopes for the truth to be out as soon as possible.
